The Blair Regional YMCA is currently accepting applications for seasonal, part-time Summer Camp Staff to fill *shifts* *in the Summer Camp Program*.
Staff will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the children enrolled in our programs as well as providing an environment rich in activities and experiences to promote the development of each child.
This is the perfect job for aspiring teachers, college students and adults with summers off.
*Primary Responsibilities* * Maintain knowledge and understanding of PA Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations.
* Supervise children in your care.
* When engaging children in activities, consider the needs of individual children with concern for their interests, special talents, individual style, and pace of learning.
* Assist with the development and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum.
* Interact and participate in games, activities, and special programs with children in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
* Assist in daily communication with parents.
* Utilize positive disciplinary methods including, but not limited to, redirection, positive reinforcement, proactive guidance, and if needed, appropriate time outs.
* Assist with the completion of any necessary administrative paperwork (i.
e.
meal counts, attendance, incident reports, supply requests, etc.
) *Qualifications *(should meet ONE of these criteria) * High school diploma and 30 credits in an education or human services field.
* High school diploma and 600 or more hours of secondary training.
* High school diploma, 15 credit hours in an education or human service field, and 1 year of experience working with children.
* High school diploma and 2 years of experience working with children.
* At least 18 years old Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary Salary: $10- 14 per hour Schedule: * Daytime shifts (4 hour, 6 hour, 8 hour shifts) between 6:30AM-5:30PM * Monday to Friday Experience: * Childcare: 1 year (Preferred) Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $11.
