Assist in the preparation of menu items in the Marina Cafe kitchen
Perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared quickly and efficiently according to recipes
Follow the prep list as created by the Food & Beverage Director and/or Back of the House Manager to plan daily duties
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meats, etc.
Perform cleaning duties as requested
Clean food prep stations and equipment
Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, customers and Front of the House Staff
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
Speak with others using clear and professional language.
Support team to reach common goals.
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Must be 17 years of age or older
Proven cooking experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment
Reliable transportation required
Ability to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures required
All staff under 18 must have a worker’s permit provided by your local school district.
