*Job Description – Truck Driver, Class A CDL*
Synthex Organics is a leading edge full-service chemical manufacturer in your area and has immediate openings for Truck Drivers in our Altoona, Pennsylvania facility.
*Job Summary*
Load, deliver and offload wide range of products.
Main job duty is tanker hauling to other terminals in OH and PA.
Opportunities will arise to bring raw materials or make deliveries in a wide range of facilities.
Majority of work is within 150 miles of Altoona location.
Overnight hauls are possible, but rare.
Equipment includes dry van hauling, flat bed, and full-bulk tanker.
*Primary Responsibilities and Duties*
* Completes required paperwork prior to starting job.
* CDL Class A, with tanker and hazmat required.
* Prior driving experience preferred.
* Able to perform safety pre-check before driving, incentive provided for clean DOT stops.
* Safety is paramount to our operation.
Understanding the chemicals and hazards are crucial.
* Comply with all federal, state and local regulations.
* Able to maintain Hours of Service requirements/medical certification in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations.
*Other (Non-Essential) Functions*
* Communicates with Supervisors, and Operators on and off shift.
* Complies with safety rules and regulations (wear proper safety attire; steel toed shoes or coverings, hearing protection when necessary, safety glasses, shields and gloves as needed), is not involved in horseplay, is cautious when near equipment and machines, always make sure safety guards are in place and operational.
* Maintain clean equipment, inside and out.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions*
* Regularly required to stand or walk.
* Frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
* Must be able to climb steps to load raw materials.
* Must be able to climb ladders on tank trucks, utilizing all proper fall protection techniques.
* Occasional exposure to hazardous materials – all employees will be familiar with readily available SDS sheets and proper PPE requirements for all materials handled.
