43 USD UPMC is hiring a Trauma Program Manager! This is an exciting growth opportunity if you are a Registered Nurse and have at least 5 years of clinical nursing experience in a trauma setting.
In this role, the Trauma Program Manager will: Work collaboratively with the Director to ensure the utility and effectiveness of the trauma program.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the trauma program.
Monitor the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF) Standards for the Trauma Center Accreditation or applicable equivalent in state where the facility is located.
Actively participate in the clinical care of the trauma patients.
Responsibilities: Develops and maintains productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation and commitment to patients and colleagues.

Coordinates activities with the Trauma Program Medical Director and Trauma Program Administrator to facilitate overall quality and consistency Responsible for strategic planning activities for the trauma program including clinical, educational, and research activities Assess, implement, and evaluate department programs and services to support the trauma program’s strategic and operational plans.
Ensure compliance with standards set by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF).
Coordinate and mentor other nurses in the program regarding patient care, process improvement, and PTSF requirements.
Provide leadership and manage resources to articulate and integrate the organizational vision for trauma program continual growth and development.
Creates a caring and compassionate patient focused experience by building healthy relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
Oversees the data flow process for concurrent quality issues and directs each to appropriate personnel.
Oversees and coordinates organizational preparation of the PTSF survey and application process.
Participates in scholarly activities including writing for publication, abstracts, or poster presentations at conferences.
Manages staff, fiscal, and physical resources.
Develop and control departmental expenses.
Interview, hire, orient, coach, train, schedule, evaluate, and discipline staff.
Participates in the development of nursing policies related to the care of the trauma patient.
Develops, recommends, and administers policies to provide direction and oversight necessary to insure an efficient and effective patient care and/or services.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationship with members of the health care team I order to coordinate and facilitate the delivery of optimal trauma patient care.
Serves as a member of related in-hospital, regional, state, and national trauma related committees upon request.
Collaborates with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Administrator to develop and maintain a set of quality indicators for the trauma program.
Oversees all performance improvement documentation including but not limited to patient performance files, mortality and morbidity, and practice guidelines.
Integrates trauma quality improvement with the hospital quality program.
Reviews PTSF quarterly reports and indicates trends for review.
Maintains credentialing data on all trauma practitioners.
Performs concurrent medical record monitoring and data collection.
Ensures that all components of the trauma program meet the quality assurance standards as established by the hospital.
Qualifications: Graduate of an approved school of nursing for registered nurses BSN Required MSN Preferred 5 years’ experience of clinical nursing care required (preferably in trauma) Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located or eligible for State Board Licensure.
