THE POSITION The District 2-0 Engineering Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is currently looking for a skilled candidate to join their team as a general real estate appraiser.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As part of your responsibilities, you will be conducting thorough research on courthouse records to identify the specific type of ownership, easements, and any other recorded covenants related to a property.
Additionally, you will carefully analyze and comprehend deed descriptions.
In order to gather comprehensive information for the appraisal process, you will also visit the property in question and conduct interviews with the owner.
This will enable you to obtain any additional details necessary to ensure that the appraisal accurately reflects all relevant information about the property, including its fair market value, depreciation, any existing liens or judgments, gas and mineral rights, as well as any damages that may have occurred.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment.
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to five days per pay period after successful probationary period.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the District Office in Clearfield.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: No minimum experience and training required.
Necessary Special Requirements: Position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Certified General Real Estate Appraiser certification.
Position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
